ECNWM in a working meeting with high state officials – It was discussed about the current problems of the business sector, and their expectations regarding financial assistance for new capital investments

29.07.2024, Skopje – In the premises of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, the president Qyra together with the leadership welcomed the Prime Minister of RNM, Mr. Mickoski, , First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Mr. Mexhiti, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Nikolovski, Minister of Finance, Mrs. Dimitrieska-Koçoska and the Minister of Economy, Mr. Durmishi.

In this meeting, president Qyra stated that capital investments are essential for a stable economy, and that the government should help the business sector in this area, in order to increase productive and innovative capacities, as well as improving and raising the capacities for a sufficient and qualified workforce, thus also preventing emigration.

Also, Mr. Qyra assessed infrastructure as a key point where investment should be made, mentioning the acceleration of the construction process of corridor 8 and 10d.

Prime Minister Mr. Mickoski emphasized that 250 million euros will be available to businesses in October, while municipalities will be able to apply for these funds next year. The financial means are planned to be distributed through commercial banks, and there will be mechanisms to monitor how the funds are spent.

Also, there will be 100 million euros from the European Investment Bank for businesses, and priority will be given to the production sector, as well as digitization, in order to reduce the gray economy and increase productivity.

Mr. Mickoski emphasized that the current government is at the service of businesses and together, in accordance with the law, we will cooperate for the economic well-being of RNM.

The Executive Director of ECNWM, Mr. Zeqiri said that all the industries that faced the crisis should be treated, as well as those that contribute to the economic growth and development of the country.

The parties present at the meeting expressed that they will work together for the benefit of businesses and the economy of the country, and that they will hold continuous meetings, so that the representatives of the state government are updated with the problems of businesses in RNM.
