IN THE CONTINUATION OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY, ECNWM ORGANIZED A CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE ROLE OF ECONOMIC CHAMBERS AND PROMOTED THE MONOGRAPH

09.06.2026, Skopje – As part of the activities marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, the 20th Anniversary Jubilee Conference was held, which brought together representatives of institutions, the business community, academia and numerous partners of the Chamber.

The conference opened with the welcoming remarks of the President of ECNWM, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, and Mr. Bekim Sali, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and Minister for European Affairs, who emphasized the importance of the role of the Chamber in advancing business interests and economic development over the last two decades.

During the conference, a panel discussion was held on the topic “The Position of Economic Chambers in the country and the region in the next decade”, where the challenges, opportunities and role of economic chambers in representing the private sector and in creating policies that promote economic development and regional integration were addressed.

Part of the panel were well-known personalities from the economic, academic and institutional fields: Agim Shahini, President of the Kosovo Business Alliance, Acad. Prof. Izet Zeqiri, member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of North Macedonia, Xhemail Dauti, Honorary President of the ECNWM, as well as Prof. Dr. Jeton Shasivari, University Professor of Constitutional Law at the South East European University.

A special moment of the conference was the promotion of the ECNWM Monograph, a publication that reflects the journey, challenges, achievements and contribution of the Chamber in supporting and developing the business community during its 20 years of activity.

The 20th Anniversary Conference served as a platform for reflection on the successes so far, but also as an opportunity to discuss the future perspectives and priorities of the private sector and economic chambers in the country and the region.

After the end of the official program, a networking cocktail was organized for all attendees, which enabled meetings and exchange of ideas between representatives of businesses, institutions and ECNWM partners.
