The next meeting with the companies of the Polog Region: ECNWM strengthens dialogue and cooperation with PRO

15.08.2024, Skopje – Following the meetings with officials of the Public Revenue Office, ECNWM organized the next meeting with the companies of the Polog Region, in the premises of the member company – Hotel Merkur, Tetovo.

In this meeting, the executive director of ECNWM Mr. Zekiri, the vice president Mr. Asani, members of the Managing Board and other companies that are members of the Chamber that operate in this region were attendants.  Businesses had the opportunity to discuss and address the uncertainties they have regarding the practices and procedures of the Public Revenue of Office, proposing specific solutions for the daily challenges they encounter in their activities.

One of the main topics that was discussed was the necessity of speeding up the digitalization process of PRO services and the synchronization of information with Directorates and other institutions that are interconnected. The proposal of the members of the Chamber was to simplify some procedures and eliminate duplicate data, as is the case with the evidence of data in the Daily Book of the financial statement.

Executive Director, Mr. Zekiri underlined the importance of fighting the informal economy, which constitutes a serious obstacle to the sustainable economic development of the country. He also expressed concern about the inadequate treatment of ECNWM member businesses by PRO, knowing that we have a significant number of illegal traders operating in the country’s market, and they are not systematized and formalized, thus causing great damage to formal companies.

Another important issue that was discussed was the need for a systematic solution for the payment of taxes before transactions.

The representatives of PRO emphasized that they are working on the development of an integrated automatic system, which will collect and fully manage all the necessary information of tax payers, making the process completely digitized.

In conclusion, it was decided to create a regular communication channel through which PRO members will have the opportunity to send proposals and report irregularities encountered in the market.

ECNWM remains committed to advancing productive dialogue and close cooperation between the private sector and state institutions, addressing challenges and creating favorable conditions for the sustainable development of the economy.
