The President of ECNWM – Panelist at the Conference “Business without Corruption”
The President of ECNWM, Mr. Nebi Hoxha today participated in the conference Business without corruption, on the topic Corruption-free business environment: Collective approach and motivation.
The effect of corruption on business and the economy is multidimensional – increasing unfair competition, weakening the quality of companies’ competitiveness, lack of a clear picture of competition, eliminating quality staff, attracting unrealistic investments, etc.
Mr. Hoxha says that awareness should be raised about what corruption is and how it is identified.
The business sector as a key driver of the economy, which employs most of the people in the country, I believe that by improving the conditions for doing and running a business, will contribute even more to the eradication of this phenomenon. Therefore, our Chamber in the new 4-year strategy, as strategic goals has defined the proper implementation of legislation as a prerequisite for the rule of law and the formalization of the informal economy, as well as the
promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation and strengthening domestic and regional competition and more.
The state apparatus will have to cooperate with the business sector, the civil sector and all other segments of society, to cooperate until a level is reached where everyone has the same conditions and opportunities to do business and employment.
According to the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index, it can be seen that countries where this phenomenon is more common and prominent, have a weaker economy and a high unemployment rate.
