Sami Morina represents the ECNWM at the economic cooperation ceremony in Berlin

Member of the Managing Board and coordinator of the ECNWM Cluster of Construction, Urbanism and Environment and Energy, Mr. Sami Morina, participated in the solemn ceremony for the signing of the Joint Declaration of Intent for the promotion of economic cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia and the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The ceremony was held at the premises of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Berlin, while senior government representatives from both countries, as well as representatives of the Economic Chambers, were present at the working meeting. The meeting served to establish the Joint Economic Steering Committee (JESCO).

This strategic document lays the foundations for a comprehensive framework for the promotion and further deepening of bilateral economic cooperation. In this context, the importance of advancing economic relations following the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, signed in 2001, was emphasized, and the status of the Republic of North Macedonia as a candidate country for membership in the European Union since 2005 was recalled. The parties appreciated the country’s continuous efforts to fulfill the Copenhagen criteria, as a basis for further European integration.

Energy remains one of the priority areas of the ECNWM, with a particular focus on active contribution to the processes of drafting and advancing the Law on Energy and the Law on Renewable Energy Sources.
