04.04.2020, Skopje – The Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia always tries to maintain the highest level of cooperation with state institutions and highly appreciates the partnership created with them. ECNWM will always contribute to creating the most favorable environment for businesses in the country, so it will also react to the accelerated and wrong actions of the Government, such as the Government’s decision to restrict movement in the City of Kumanovo and to stop the circulation of citizens starting from Friday (03.04.2020) from 21:00 to Monday (06.04.2020) at 05:00.

This decision is unacceptable as it was brought only a few hours before the restriction of free movement started, from 21:00 and the day before the weekend start and the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia are notified only a few hours earlier. This situation causes confusion and panic among the citizens of that area, who in the absence of basic food supply gather in crowds of people to make the necessary supplies. This situation increases the level of risk of spreading the coronavirus even more, a fact that is of no interest to anyone in this period of COVID-19 pandemic.

The ECNWM appeals to the relevant institutions to notify the citizens of any similar decision that will be taken, at least 48 hours before its entry into force.
