President Qyra welcomes the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in North Macedonia, Mr. Florian Qehaja. The accent was put on overcoming interstate economic barriers
21.08.2024, Skopje – A meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo took place in the premises of the ECNWM, which was welcomed by the President Mr. Qyra, Honorary President Mr. Dauti and the Executive Director Mr. Zekiri. In the meeting it was discussed about increasing the participation of Kosovo companies in the North Macedonian market and vice versa, emphasizing that there are many opportunities for the expansion of cooperation including different sectors. A review of the One Stop Shop agreement was also mentioned, which aims to ease administrative procedures for companies operating between the two countries, enabling faster and more efficient access to the relevant markets.
Another topic was reciprocity during the purchase of properties in the two respective countries, where both sides emphasized the importance of equal treatment of citizens and companies in property matters, which consequently strengthens relations between the states.
The ambassador, Mr. Qehaja also spoke about the solution to the problem and Kosovo’s membership in the CEMT Union (European Conference of Transport Ministries), assessing that Kosovo’s membership is essential for facilitating the international transport of goods and for strengthening Kosovo’s position in regional markets and international.
His Excellency also emphasized that he sees ECNWM as a partner and that he will continue to guide Kosovan companies in RNM to join the Economic Chamber of North-Western Macedonia.
The Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia is now a very important factor in creating macroeconomic policies, determining the direction of economic development, but also now with an indisputable contribution to opening the doors for foreign trade with neighboring countries, as well as beyond.
