“Meeting between ECNWM and SDUM: The platform for economic development of RNM and SDUM vision for EU integration are presented”
02.05.2024, Skopje – In the premises of ECNWM, the President Mr. Mendi Qyra, together with the leadership of the Chamber, welcomed the President of the SDUM political party, Mr. Dimitar Kovachevski, the Vice-President, Mr. Fatmir Bytyqi as well as the member of the Central Board Mr. Filip Nikolovski.
During the meeting, the Platform for Economic Development of the ECNWM was presented, a platform which is based on ECNWM’s analyses with which the real needs of the country’s economy have been identified in order to maintain and advance the economic perspective of our country. The request of the President Qyra was that this Platform be included in their political program, but also be implemented by the future Governmental coalition.
The President of SDUM, Mr. Dimitar Kovachevski, emphasized that a significant number of points of the ECNWM Platform are part of their government program, but that their main vision is the integration of North Macedonia into the European Union. From SDUM, they also emphasized that they are planning reforms in the public administration to increase efficiency at the appropriate level.
ECNWM continues to persistently demand the increase of the minimum salary to 30,000 denars, while in parallel the contributions should be reduced to 32% from the net salary, and from there the calculation of the contributions of all salaries should begin.
There was also talk about the asymmetry between demand and supply in the labor market, where the system of the Employment Service Agency should be reconsidered, where out of 103,000 job seekers, not even 20,000 employees can not be found for the private sector, for whom the demand is high.
ECNWM remains stoic in its demands, lobbying for these demands to be considered with complete seriousness but also to be implemented, because only through partnerships between all interested parties can specific reforms be realized in the country, but above all to stop the migration of the youth and thus creating a long-term perspective for our country.
