ECNWM in a meeting with the European Front: Common platform for economic development of the country
Today, 06.05.2024, Skopje – A meeting was held with the leaders of the European Front in the premises of ECNWM member company – Hotel Actor, to discuss the 4-year economic platforms of both parties.
This meeting aimed to discuss the performance of key sectors in our economy and propose the necessary measures for their improvement, focusing on the labor force, increasing work efficiency, productive investments, and improving the conditions for doing business.
President Qyra presented the problem of the workforce to the leaders of the “European Front” Coalition, insisting that the future government coalition should take into account the ECNWM proposal for increasing the minimum salary to 30,000 denars, and reducing contributions to 32%, given that we are the state with the highest contributions in the region, and such a measure is necessary to keep the labor force in the country.
The Executive Director emphasized the importance of communication between the relevant actors in the state, regardless of who will be part of the next Government, and that especially the common points of the Platforms of both parties must be treated seriously and realized as a whole, meanwhile for the same to have consistency and consensus from all parties. Among other things, he emphasized some key points such as bringing the best opportunities for domestic investors, comparing the opportunities that foreign investors have in the RNM, in order to increase the capacities of businesses to prepare for the large European market in case of EURO INTEGRATIONS.
From the members of ECNWM, a special emphasis was also placed on not resolving the status of the Vizbegovo Zone, which as an area has over 1 billion euros of investments, but the businessmen of this area operate in miserable conditions. The Front promised that the Vizbegovo Zone will be their priority during the next mandate, and they will dedicate themselves to solving this problem.
The alarming situation of the economy was as well mentioned, which the European Front coalition must take into account in the following period starting from the most vital one, which is economic growth and development, the factor of human resources, salary increases, the promotion of a healthy competitiveness of which was preceded by decent and real conditions for business development. It was requested from the next Government that the issues addressed by ECNWM to the Government be put on the table of a common platform which will aim at overcoming and eliminating the country’s economic barriers.
From the Front, they emphasized that they will be open to cooperation and that their platform with ECNWM contains some points in common, and that they will be committed to examining the same, while they pledged to create a good climate for business.
