Deepening the economic cooperation between North Macedonia and the People’s Republic of China: Perspectives and opportunities for new investments
President Qyra welcomed the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China His Excellency Mr. Zhang Zuo for a meeting, as well as the Economic and Trade Counselor Mr. He Binghua, Third Secretary of the Economic Office Ms. Che Shan and the Visa Officer Mr. Fang Hang. Mr. Qyra emphasized the importance of cooperation and expressed his willingness to strengthen the relations between the two countries, giving importance to trade exchange and investments in specific sectors for the economic empowerment of the two countries.
President Qyra emphasized that even though trade relations between North Macedonia and People’s Republic of China are at a high level, there is still room for expansion and development, enhancing the construction and trade sector.
Also, in the meeting it was discussed the possibility of capital investments in the automotive industry, identifying that North Macedonia has a deficiency in this field, while the People’s Republic of China has developed it significantly.
The Executive Director also mentioned increasing the efficiency of the workforce as one of the strategic pillars where ECNWM has put special emphasis and asked the guests for opportunities to exchange experiences and expertise among workers, given that China has a very high rate of efficiency. This exchange is of particular importance to improve efficiency and productivity in specific sectors of the economy, enabling North Macedonia to benefit from experience and good practices implemented in PRC in the field of construction and infrastructure.
The Embassy expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of the Chamber as one of the most serious and visionary institutions in the country. The same ones informed the hosts about the opportunities to connect our country’s companies with Chinese companies and offered their unreserved help to assist in the organization of joint events.
The vice-presidents of ECNWM, who already have cooperation with companies from China, also expressed willingness to deepen this cooperation through new investment initiatives.
The role of the Chamber in this context is important to promote and improve the business climate in North Macedonia, to contribute to the improvement of the space for doing business, as well as to open the doors of cooperation with the relevant institutions in the country.
