CDBK and ECNWM: Remove COVID-19 tests between the two countries

The impact of the COVID-19 crisis has reached enormous proportions globally. This crisis has affected the activity of businesses and at the same time has a huge impact both economically and socially. Based on this, the Governments of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo should take decisions that will facilitate the free movement of people and enable the uninterrupted flow of trade, which affects the development of the regional economy of both countries.

The Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia and the Chamber of doing business in Kosovo appeal to the Governments of both countries to repeal the decision for mandatory negative PCR test, in coordination with the relevant ministries and commissions in order to enable the continuation of uninterrupted regional cooperation, according to all measures for the protection and prevention of COVID-19.

Considering the territorial connection and proximity of North Macedonia with Kosovo, the mandatory negative PCR test set for entry into both countries represents an additional barrier for both individuals and businesses, as it first hits the economy that suffers large losses from this decision.

Kosovo and North Macedonia have not set up tests with Albania and therefore  it is not necessary to place them between each other either.
