The meeting between the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia and the Kosova Chamber of Commerce was held: Regional Economic Cooperation Strengthened
01 April – Tuesday 2025, in the premises of the ECNWM, today’s guests were the President of the Kosova Chamber of Commerce Mr. Lulzim Rafuna, his advisor Mr. Haliti and the Director for International Relations Mr. Mustafa. The guests were welcomed by the President of the ECNWM Mr. Mendi Qyra, the Executive Director Mr. Durim Zekiri, the Operations Manager Miranda Ajdini and the Associate for Research and Analysis Genta Latifi.
In addition to the resumption of cooperation between the two major institutions in their respective countries and beyond, opportunities for cooperation at the level of international grant projects were also discussed, as well as joint work against the elimination of various barriers to trade between the two countries, as well as the exchange of expertise and experiences with the aim of improving the business climate in our countries and improving the legal framework related to the economy.
Mendi Qyra welcomed the initiative of the Kosova Chamber of Commerce for today’s meeting, emphasizing that by working together, we can solve numerous problems, such as the circulation of work force between the two countries, the abolition of various barriers to the purchase of property in North Macedonia for individuals and many other non-tariff barriers between our countries.
President Rafuna emphasized that he and the institution he represents will be available to foster cooperation between the two institutions in terms of the economy.
Creating and maintaining partnerships is key to strengthening the ECNWM and expanding its influence in the country and region, which is also evidenced by the success of recent years, especially the establishment of the Ministry of Energy, a long-standing request of the ECNWM, the National Development Strategy, the annulment of the Solidarity Law, the provision of a significant contribution and the conception of the Law for Prohibition of Unfair Trading Practices, and many other major achievements.
