13.08.2020, Skopje – Given that the deadline for the formation of the Government is approaching, the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia appeals to the political parties to manifest their responsibility as soon as possible with the formation of the new Government, giving priority to the economic aspect and the fight against the consequences of the global pandemic of COVID-19.

The economy of North Macedonia is going through a deep crisis that neither companies nor state institutions have ever faced. The main source of this crisis is the COVID-19 pandemic, so it is very important to establish a new government and the full functioning of state institutions, in order to repair the damage caused and to project further steps on how the processes and programs for economic recovery will be developed, which is one of the main pillars of the state.

The consequences of the virus have and continue to cause economic damage in business bankruptcy, layoffs and illiquidity. Therefore, in order to be more prepared for an eventual second wave of the virus, it is necessary for North Macedonia to take all the necessary precautions and in case of such situations, our country should not be burdened with creating a Government.

It is of great importance that in the structures of the Government that will be formed, to be placed apolitical experts from the field of economics who constantly consult the business sector and economic experts on the decisions and management processes of the country’s economy, because otherwise we will have space for inefficient and politicized Government.
