Reaction from the ECNWM: Open the borders for diaspora

The decision of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia which remains in force and on the basis of which: ”In the Republic of North Macedonia is allowed the entry of citizens of RNM and foreigners with temporary or permanent residence in RNM provided that they have a valid negative PCR test (performed through the nose and throat), not older than 72 hours from the day of taking the test by which they receive an Order and complete a statement for home self-isolation for a period of 14 days ” is an unnecessary burden and an additional obstacle to free movement, therefore we appeal that the same be removed and only the obligation to possess a valid negative PCR test be left.

Given that diaspora is very important for the economy of the conutry, especially in this difficult economic period, the condition for self-isolation is the main obstacle for the diaspora to decide whether to visit the country this year and therefore we as ECNWM request this condition to be changed no later than 01.07.2020.

At the same time, we request a quick decision from the Government which will remove this obligation and for the same URGENTLY to inform the diaspora through the Representations of Diplomatic Consulates.
