Executive Director of ECNWM, Mr. Durim Zeqiri, participated in the Regional ESG Conference – WB6

March 20, 2025, Pristina – The Executive Director of ECNWM, Mr. Durim Zeqiri, was invited as a panelist at the Regional Conference ESG – WB6, organized as part of the project for promoting ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices by the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia and other partners.

Mr. Zeqiri participated in the first panel discussion on the topic “Regional ESG Cooperation – Strengthening Cross-border Efforts”. He emphasized the implementation of high standards and the exchange of best practices among regional countries, considering it a key step toward creating a more sustainable business environment and helping companies adapt to international requirements for good governance, social responsibility, and environmental protection. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of interinstitutional cooperation among Western Balkan states, which would contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of companies.

Regarding ECNWM long-standing request for the reduction of contributions, Mr. Zeqiri pointed out that Montenegro has already implemented this policy, which would enable labor market stability, prevent workforce migration, increase productivity, and contribute to overall economic development.

Regarding legal policies, Mr. Zekiri emphasized the importance of an adequate and open legal framework, without companies being too constrained by laws, in order to create a more favorable environment for local businesses. He also added that the legal framework should not only include written laws but also practices and policies that can help create better conditions for business development.

The second discussion panel, titled “ESG in Practice – Business Implementation” also featured the participation of a representative from the member company Alpak Eko, Mr. Fatmir Ejub.
