The leadership of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia conducted an official meeting with the Ambassador of Switzerland in North Macedonia, Mr. Christoph Sommer.
During the meeting, opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed, with a particular focus on promoting trade exchange, the implementation of joint projects, and new investments.
A key point of the discussions was the role of the North Macedonian diaspora in Switzerland as a connecting bridge for economic cooperation, as well as processes of digitalization and the exchange of know-how from Swiss companies to local businesses.
As part of its institutional vision, ECNWM emphasized its commitment to strengthening the linkage of local companies with international partners and to supporting initiatives that create real opportunities for economic development and long-term cooperation.
According to data from the State Statistical Office, in the period January–November 2025, trade exchange between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Swiss Confederation reached a value of €153.6 million, of which €62.4 million were exports and €91.2 million imports. These figures demonstrate the existence of significant potential for further deepening economic cooperation, particularly in terms of increasing exports and attracting new investments.
