ECNWM participating in the World Bank Forum in Vienna

28-29.05.2024, Vienna, Austria – The meeting organized by the Center for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR), Governance Global Practice at the World Bank was held on the topic “Responding to New Requirements and Challenges in Corporate Financial and Sustainability Reporting.”

Representative from ECNWM was the Vice president of the Supervisory board, Mr. Arben Halili, while there were other representatives from 11 countries of the Balkans and Eastern Europe. This meeting aimed to address the challenges of financial reporting and corporate sustainability in the region.

The challenges of corporate financial and non-financial reporting, along with the increased focus on concentration reporting and the role of artificial intelligence, were key points of discussion at the meeting. The presence of artificial intelligence in the process of financial reporting and auditing can influence political decisions, requiring a legal framework compatible with international standards.

This meeting comes at a time when countries such as Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and others experience various challenges in the development and implementation of good practices in financial reporting. The presence of representatives from these countries helps determine the steps needed to address these challenges and help advance their financial and reporting systems.
