25.12.2025, Tetovo – The Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia continues its commitment to strengthening dialogue with local institutions and developing sustainable partnerships that support the business community. The Acting President Mr. Nuhi Aliu, the Executive Director Mr. Durim Zekiri, the Honorary President Mr. Xhemail Dauti, and members of the Managing Board were welcomed in a meeting by the Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo, Mr. Bilall Kasami.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the needs and priorities of the local business community, as well as concrete steps for improving the economic environment in the city, with a focus on sustainable development and the inclusion of businesses in decision-making processes.
The Acting President of ECNWM, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, congratulated Mayor Kasami on his second mandate, expressing the Chamber’s readiness and interest in deepening institutional cooperation with the Municipality of Tetovo. He emphasized that ECNWM remains open to presenting investment opportunities and development projects, which, according to him, should be communicated and discussed directly with the Chamber and its membership in order to create added value for the local economy.
For his part, the Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo, Mr. Bilall Kasami, highlighted that cooperation with the business community has been and remains one of the municipality’s key priorities. He expressed readiness for a more structured and closer partnership with ECNWM, emphasizing that Tetovo offers significant opportunities for investment. Mayor Kasami underlined that every business interested in investing or developing construction activities in Tetovo is welcome, stressing the importance of public–private partnership as a key mechanism for local economic development.
Following the discussions, the Executive Director of ECNWM, Mr. Durim Zekiri, presented the possibility of implementing a project for mapping businesses in the respective municipalities, an initiative that could contribute to accelerating decentralization processes, increasing transparency, and supporting local economic development.
Within the framework of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ECNWM and the Municipality of Tetovo, through which the parties established an institutional framework for mutual cooperation aimed at implementing activities, projects, and initiatives contributing to the economic, social, and administrative development of the local community.
After the conclusion of the meeting, the Acting President of ECNWM, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo, Mr. Bilall Kasami, gave a press statement, where they emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and the readiness to undertake joint actions in support of entrepreneurship and economic development in the country.
