14.01.2026, Skopje – In the premises of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, a meeting was held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mr. Timco Mucunski, who was welcomed by the Acting President of the ECNWM, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, the Executive Director, Mr. Durim Zekiri, the Vice President, Mr. Jeton Asani, the President of the Assembly, Mr. Nazmi Ejupi and the Honorary President, Mr. Xhemail Dauti.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation and promote joint initiatives for economic development, as well as identify opportunities for promoting local businesses in international markets.
Talking about economic challenges and opportunities, the Acting President, Nuhi Aliu, emphasized the importance of trade exchange and strengthening businesses, as a way to contribute to the state economy. He stressed that inter-institutional cooperation is essential, especially now that the Ministry has competences also in the field of foreign trade.
The Minister, Mr. Mucunski, stated that the focus should be on intensifying cooperation through the organization of thematic trade visits and providing logistical support during important business visits to the country. He also emphasized the importance of promoting the export capacities of local companies before the diplomatic corps and improving communication and cooperation with diplomatic and consular representations in foreign countries. The Minister underlined that systematic support of companies with export potential directly helps to increase the added value in the economy and creates conditions for sustainable economic development.
Also, the Executive Director, Mr. Zekiri, highlighted the transport sector as one of the key sectors of the country and underlined the need to stimulate the activity of this sector, eliminating potential obstacles and creating more favorable conditions for businesses. He also emphasized the importance of regular communication with consular representations and their focus on economic diplomacy.
Meanwhile, the President of the Assembly Nazmi Ejupi spoke about the need to support local producers, providing facilities to increase production and further develop domestic enterprises.
Honorary President Xhemail Dauti underlined the importance of promoting exports and opening new opportunities for local businesses in international markets.
The meeting emphasized the importance of supporting companies with export potential and inter-institutional cooperation to create real opportunities for growth and development.
