The President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Mr. Qyra, together with the Executive Director Mr. Zekiri and the member of Managing board, also President of the Construction, Urbanism, Environment and Energy Group, Mr. Morina, participated in the 8th edition of the MEF Energy Forum 2025, one of the most important regional events in the energy sector, organized by Zip Institute, under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
Under the theme “Driving the Regional Energy Transformation: From Ambition to Action in the Western Balkans”, the forum brought together representatives of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and Balkan countries, businesses, international organizations and the civil society sector to discuss actual steps towards a sustainable and inclusive energy future. The agenda included a roundtable discussion on the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, progress, challenges and the path forward for the Western Balkans, as well as other discussion panels on the positioning of the WB6 in these times of massive market development, carbon prices, and other key issues for the energy transition.
One of the strategic pillars of the ECNWM for the period 2024-2027 is the path towards modern institutions and businesses that are digitalized and oriented towards the circular economy and renewable energy sources. Therefore, ECNWM will continue to promote policies and partnerships that strengthen the green transition and the involvement of local companies in energy transformation processes, with the aim of making them not only beneficiaries, but also active contributors to building a sustainable, fair and competitive energy system at the European level.
In addition to its active participation in this international forum, ECNWM has played a key role in the drafting and adoption process of the new Energy Law, which paves the way for new investments, the development of clean technologies, and increased competitiveness of domestic companies in the European energy market.
