February 10, 2025, Skopje – The President of ECNWM, Mr. Mendi Qyra, along with Executive Director Mr. Durim Zekiri, the President of the Group for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Arben Halili, and the Vice President of the Assembly of ENCWM, Mr. Kasam Zendeli, were welcomed a meeting by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy, Mr. Flakron Bexheti, where it was discussed  for theopportunities for cooperation between both parties to create more favorable conditions for businesses operating in this sector.

The meeting focused on addressing the challenges faced by businesses in this industry and identifying specific measures to enable sustainable and competitive development.

ECNWM President Mr. Mendi Qyra emphasized that North Macedonia has all the prerequisites to develop a competitive agricultural sector. However, stronger support measures from state institutions are needed to increase investments, modernize technologies, and empower local producers. ECNWM representatives highlighted the necessity of greater institutional support through subsidies and effective policies that would stimulate production, processing, and export of agricultural products.

The Chamber’s members expressed their concerns and the challenges they encounter in their daily activities, seeking the Ministry’s support in addressing them. In response, Deputy Minister Bexheti confirmed the institution’s willingness to review any initiative proposed by the Chamber and to collaborate in finding solutions that will facilitate the development of this sector.

ECNWM remains committed to strengthening cooperation with state institutions, in line with the Platform for Economic Development of North Macedonia, where one of the key pillars is “Agriculture with a Real Impact on the Economy.”
