Gratitude to more than 100 companies from Struga and the region for their presence at this event!

July 5, 2025, Struga – The Ministry of Economy and Labor, in cooperation with the Employment Service Agency, presented today the Operational Employment Plan at an event held at Ëmbla Hotel & Spa in Struga.

The plan includes specific measures and direct support for local companies, aiming to increase employment and strengthen the private sector in the country.

As part of the event, a panel discussion was held with speakers including the Minister of Economy and Labor, Mr. Besar Durmishi, the President of the ECNWM, Mr. Mendi Qyra, the Director of the Employment Service Agency, Mr. Selatin Beluli, and the Government Spokesperson, Ms. Venera Latifi Azizi.

In his speech, President Qyra emphasized the importance of the Operational Employment Plan as an actual step toward empowering youth and achieving sustainable economic development. He also highlighted the increased budget and the focus on integrating the youth into the labor market, stressing that ECNWM remains committed to serving as a bridge between businesses and institutions — through regular information, support for self-employment, and creating better conditions for start-ups and local companies.

“Eliminating the asymmetry between the demand for 20,000 workers from the private sector and the supply of over 96,000 active job seekers registered with the Employment Agency is a top priority in order to overcome the current bottleneck in the economy and the labor market,” stated Mr. Mendi Qyra.

President Qyra also strongly reiterated his opposition to the government’s failure to implement the proposal for increasing the net minimum wage to €500 and freezing social contributions — which would remain at 32% — as this would significantly ease the burden on employers without causing fiscal implications for the state budget.
