ECNWM meeting with the “Vlen” Coalition: Discussions on Economic Development and Protection of Local Business
In the continuation of meetings with political parties, in the premises of ECNWM, President Qyra welcomed to a meeting representatives from the “Vlen” coalition, namely the candidate for president, Mr. Arben Taravari, Mr. Bilall Kasami, Mr. Bekim Qoku and Mr. Visar Ganiu.
During the meeting, the Platform for Economic Development of the ECNWM was presented, a platform which relies on ECNWM analyzes with which the real needs of the country’s economy have been identified in order to maintain and advance the economic perspective of our country. As a request of the President Qyra was for this Platform to be included in their political program, but also be implemented by the future Governmental coalition.
Also, the President Qyra from the candidate for President of the state Mr. Arben Taravari, requested that within the competences of the President of the state, he should not sign laws that are harmful to local business, especially without consulting the Economic Chambers. In the meantime, as a Coalition, ECNWM insisted for measures to be taken to reduce contributions and increase the minimum wage, as a preventive against the migration of the youth from the country, which is one of the key points on which the Chamber is focused.
During the meeting, the Executive Director, Mr. Durim Zeqiri spoke as well where he expressed the concerns about the impact of unfair competition and the role of the Commission for Protection of Competition, which has not taken any initiative to prevent it. He added that political parties should use the expertise of ECNWM and consult with the chamber in order to improve the mechanisms of creating macroeconomic policies.
There were other requests from the leadership of the ECNWM as well, including the area of Vizbegovo and its transformation into an area of national interest, investments in tourism, digitalization, etc.
The representatives of the “Vlen” coalition emphasized that the Platform for Economic Development prepared by ECNWM will be implemented in their economic program and that they will be committed to meet the requirements of ECNWM in order to improve the conditions for doing business and increase the standard of living of citizens.
