Career Fair – “Mother Teresa” University: President Qyra emphasizes the importance of the local workforce and stopping the youth migration from the country
Today, on 15.05.2024, at the “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje the Career Fair was held, an important event for interaction between universities and companies from different fields.
In this event, the President of ECNWM, Mr. Mendi Qyra, who considers the work force as a key asset for the country, expressing the Chamber’s determination to fight migration and the departure of the work force from the country. He emphasized the importance of the Career Fair as an excellent opportunity for students to explore companies and professional profiles where they can choose to build their careers.
Also, President Qyra declared that ECNWM will continue to be the main partner of educational and governmental institutions in the fight against youth migration, helping to build a stable workforce in the country. The chamber remains stoic in its demand for the increase of the minimum salary to 30,000 denars and the reduction of contributions to 32%, in order to improve the standard of living, increase work efficiency, which will also be an impetus for a more powerful competitiveness.
The President also called for a closer cooperation between the education and business sectors, to produce professional cadres that meet the needs of the labor market. He also highlighted the fact that according to official data, there are 103,000 people looking for work in the Republic of North Macedonia, while on the other hand, the lack of about 25,000 job vacancies cannot be filled.
At this fair, a significant number of ECNWM member companies were present such as: Dauti Komerc, Neting School, EVN, ZSF, Trim-Lum, Be-da Logistics as well as Maliqi Group, presenting to the students their activities and providing opportunities for practical work and providing a first-hand perspective on the opportunities offered by companies.
