21.12.2024, Tetovo – The #ECONLIT24 Conference, organized by the Institute for Liberal Alternative Institute, was held at the Hotel Mercure, with the topic “Empowering Future Generations: The Role of Economic Education in Sustainable Development.” One of the guest panelists was the Executive Director of ECNWM, Mr. Durim Zekiri.
Mr. Zekiri was a speaker on the panel discussion on the topic “Linking Policies and Practices – A Collaborative Approach to Economic Education,” alongside Mr. Ahmed Qazimi, former economic advisor to the President of North Macedonia, and Mr. Gani Ramadani, Deputy Director of the National Bank of North Macedonia.
“This year, through various mentoring and training programs, we have assisted businesses in enhancing their potential by implementing the necessary green transformations demanded by the modern market. On the other hand, it is important to highlight the high operational costs that companies face in their daily operations, discouraging investments and jeopardizing the business ecosystem in North Macedonia,” emphasized Mr. Zekiri.
Regarding the lack of a skilled workforce, Mr. Zekiri emphasized the need for reforms to ensure the private sector has access to well-prepared and professional personnel. ECNWM aims to foster closer collaboration with high schools, particularly vocational schools, as well as with universities. In this regard, universities and businesses should act as the driving forces that initiate and advance every initiative, whether on a macroeconomic level or in micro-level implementation, company-university partnerships, and vice versa.
ECNWM is committed to supporting all initiatives aimed at creating better living conditions for citizens, increasing economic productivity, and advancing technological development in the country.
