The Acting President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, together with the Executive Director Mr. Durim Zekiri, the members of the Managing Board Mr. Sami Morina and Mr. Agron Mustafa, as well as the operational manager Miranda Ajdini, conducted a meeting with the Director of the Public Revenue Office, Ms. Elena Petrova.
During the meeting, concrete concerns were raised related to the practical functioning of tax processes. Technical problems and the lack of efficiency in the system for submitting the annual financial statements, which are making it difficult for companies to comply with legal deadlines, were discussed. One of the main issues was the delay in the refund of VAT, which is directly affecting the liquidity of businesses.
Executive Director Durim Zekiri requested additional information regarding the return of funds from the solidarity tax and its implications for businesses. The representatives of the ECNWM also emphasized that, in addition to addressing the identified challenges, the Public Revenue Office should be an example of financial discipline and a fair business partner, ensuring efficient processes and compliance with legal deadlines.
