Meeting with VMRO-DPMNE: ECNWM requires solutions to business challenges

13.10.2025, Skopje – ECNWM organized a meeting with VMRO-DPMNE, an activity that the Chamber traditionally organizes during local election periods.

At this meeting, the Chamber’s leadership presented its platform for local economic development, which consists of 7 chapters with over 70 concrete measures.

The meeting was led by Acting President of ECNWM, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, and was attended by the Executive Director, as well as members of the Managing Board and Supervisory Board.

In addition to the party leader, Mr. Hristijan Mickoski, candidates for several municipalities from VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition were present, with whom numerous business-related demands regarding local self-government were discussed, aiming to eliminate the obstacles faced by businesses.

Acting President Nuhi Aliu thanked the guests for their seriousness and dedication in addressing important topics affecting the local economy, while also emphasizing that ECNWM economic platform for local development is a document prepared by ECNWM members, which makes it highly relevant.

In ECNWM presentation, the Executive Director spoke about law enforcement, local economic development, infrastructure and spatial planning, energy, agriculture, etc., with particular emphasis on tourism as a highly strategic sector. Mr. Zekiri highlighted several concerns in this area, such as lack of infrastructure, shortage of workforce, and more.

VMRO-DPMNE agreed with many of ECNWM proposals, while the candidate for Mayor of Skopje accepted the request for the construction of the main road in the Vizbegovo area as well as secondary roads, promising that this ECNWM request will be one of the infrastructure priorities during his term.

Party leader Mickoski emphasized that ECNWM proposal to stop freezing margins and prices is justified, noting that such a measure will be discontinued as a practice, since it has not produced results.

Meetings with the country’s political parties participating in these elections aim to provide faster avenues for cooperation between businesses and institutions.
